Fans of recently launched Talk Show, Thatha Wena hosted by Gilmore Tee and Mbo Mhocs (Pictured) were left reeling in anger after its Public Relations team told them off on popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
The PR team using Thatha Wena’s official handle @ThathaWena, was responding to a fan who happens to be Bulawayo’s popular photographer Mgcini Nyoni’s criticism of its first three episodes on ZBC-TV.
Below is Mgcini’s sentiments and ThathaWena’s response.
@MgciniNyoni Unfortunately #ThathaWena has sunk into the predictable quicksand of talking heads: That kind of talk show is so 1985!
@MgciniNyoni Host of #ThathaWena talks too much, me thinks. Instead of facilitating interaction between guest & audience, host has too much opinion
Then Thatha Wena responded…
@ThathaWena in your views and we will engage you in convo. Jus don expect it laying down. #Asisobakhwenyana koBulawayo #ThathaWena
After a barrage of attacks from its fans the team went on to dismiss the criticism by stating that losing one viewer will not change anything.
@ThathaWena We appreciate the little attention you have awarded us on this episode. But one less follower and yet still, the beat goes on #ThathaWena
Fans were left livid after repeated efforts to get them to be polite were met with an equally cold response.
@ThathaWena Its nothing personal. It’s just social media. #Its2017. Good Old (PR) doesn’t cut it in these times. #ThathaWena
Thatha Wena is a new Talk Show being broadcast on ZBC-TV every Thursday at 1730 hours.
