The war between Bulawayo rappers POY and Cal Vin is over.
After recording diss tracks for each other and taking a dig at each other live on radio earlier this year, the two sat down for a drink from the same glass of peace.
To show that they have squashed the beef, POY is part of the lineup of artist who will perform at the ‘Made In Bulawayo’ hip-hop concert hosted by Cal Vin.
The lineup also includes GTI, Asaph, T1nda, DJ Liz, Mawiza among others.
Cal Vin said he has nothing against POY and has always wanted to work with him.
“At the beginning of the year I had already planned on having him (POY) on the line up. I really never had beef with him, I really respect the dude and he knows it
All I just did was respond to his attacks on me but I really had no beef. We spoke about it, all was squashed and forgotten. I and POY are the bigger names in the city so it was easy to approach that situation with maturity and lead by example,” Cal Vin said.
POY said the beef was nothing personal but music oriented.
“The beef was just something which will always be part of hip-hop culture, rappers will always flex with lyrics and rhymes to keep the skills sharp and to keep the craft and art alive, it’s just rap and never personal.
It shows maturity, come August we will work together and we are currently busy together finding strategies to market our music to get it on levels where more corporates to get involved,” POY said.
