Zvishavane giants FC Platinum were today crowned 2017 Castle lager premier league champions after beating airmen Chapungu FC.
A fully charged and determined Kugona kunenge kudada outclassed Chapungu FC two goals to nil at Ascot Stadium, Gweru.
Talisman Rodwell Chinyengetere took to the score sheet first with a superb header before Ali Sadiki goal that sealed the miners’ glory.
The Zvishavane based outfit will represent Zimbabwe at the prestigious CAF champions league.
Speaking after the match an excited Norman Mapeza said his team deserved the league more than anyone else.
“We deserved this title we put so much hard work without tiring, everyone worked hard every day and everyone deserves this especially the fans,” said Mapeza.
The title is Mapeza’s second after winning his first with Monomotapa.
Meanwhile Harare giants Dynamos had to play second fiddle after finishing two points behind the Platinum miners despite beating Chicken Inn today.
