Gospel festival shuts down Gwanda

The annual Gwanda Gospel festival held last weekend in the small mining town proved why it was being touted as the biggest gospel fiesta in the country.

Featuring a blend of Zimbabwe and South Africa’s leading gospel artistes, including Solly Mahlangu from South Africa, Oliver Mtukudzi, Mahendere Brothers and ZCC Mbungo, the festival lived up to its billing as thousands thronged Pelandaba Stadium.

The event which was hosted by Justice Maphosa who owns Bigtime Strategic Group was commended for managing to host international acts without any glitches as has become the case in Zimbabwe.

“We invested a lot on this event with the aim of coming with an international standard of performances here.

“We are pleased if such dedication and hard work is noticed,” said Alson Darikayi, the Bigtime Strategic Group representative.

Darikayi promised a bigger event next year.

Also present at the event was vice president Phelekezela Mphoko,

Bigtime Strategic Group is the one behind this year’s Harare International Carnival.
