He is riding high with his recent track Ngikwenzeni and off music, Fokus Magazine had an opportunity to have a quick conversation with Dr Malinga and find out who is Dr Malinga. Below are the facts that you might have not known about the flying kick dancer.
His real name is Doctor Malinga… yes you read it right!
“I grew up with my grandparents and my grandfather named me Doctor Goodwill Malinga for what reason I don’t know. Maybe he wanted me to be a medical doctor. Many think Doctor is my stage name and people think I am trying to be funny when I introduce myself,” he said.
Marital status
Malinga is married with four kids.
He named his son Lingaz
He named his first son Lingaz after his Lingaz Entertainment Company.
He failed his Matric
“I only reached Matric level at school and I didn’t do so well too. School is a weapon that people should follow and use it to edify their talents like if you are a musician you should know how to do interviews and also handling bookings and contracts. Mina I am streetwise,” he said.
He doesn’t drink alcohol
Besides having a catalog of party songs and drinking the night away, Malinga doesn’t drink alcohol.
“I grew up at my Gogo’s place and that’s where I never had an interest or being lured into drinking. Not that I am saying that it’s wrong to drink but that’s me, I have never had a reason to drink, I have never drank alcohol,” said Malinga.
