Ingwebu breweries has honoured Bulawayo rappers who took part of a 13 week long free styling battle- Ingwebu I-Cypher.
The battle was held on Skyz Metro FM’s Vuka Vuka breakfast show on Fridays for the past 13 weeks.
Bleq Dwaf walked away the winner whilst Floppy X and Msizkay were runners up, respectively. Bleq Dwaf walked away with $500, a recording contract and music video recording of his choice.
Meanwhile Floppy X’s efforts of recording a freestyle dubbed Calabash did not go in vain as Ingwebu bought his song which they will use as a jiggle.
Speaking at the award presentation on Friday at Skyz Metro FM, Ingwebu acting sales and corporate affairs manager Prosper Ncube said they will continue supporting the arts.
“This is just the beginning of many more engagements with our local artists, we will continue supporting them. Ingwebu will also sponsor two awards at the inaugural Bulawayo arts awards set for Friday night,” Ncube said.
The prize was presented by Sandra Ndebele and South African based Diliza of the Umcimbi (Stiff) fame.
