Skyz Metro FM party: 7 surprise ‘missiles’ to expect

Bulawayo’s first commercial radio station Skyz Metro will celebrate its first anniversary since inception on Saturday at a gig that will feature Mzansi and local stars.

Kalawa Jazmee Records heavy weight Professor, Stiff of the Umcimbi fame, DJ Mngani will add their flavor from across Limpopo.

Locals Sandra Ndebele, Ammara Brown, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Jeys Marabini, Martin and the Ndolwane Super sounds, Cal Vin, Mzoe7 among others will also do duty .

Dubbed the biggest party in Bulawayo, fans should come prepared for lots of fun and surprises. We have compiled possible events that could take fans by surprise on Saturday.

  1. Stiff to sample new album

Earlier this year, kwaito group lead singer Diliza revealed that their most anticipated debut album was ready for a June release, alas we are already in summer and there no sign of the said album or a follow up to their monster hit Umcimbi. The Skyz Metro FM gig could come as a perfect opportunity for the group to sample their new album if there is any.

  1. Mzoe 7 to perform uBabes weMonthend

Known for setting the stage on fire, Afro pop singer and energetic dancer Mzoe7 of the Kwasakwasa fame has been working on a new track dubbed Babes weMonthend. Hopefully Mzoe7 will sample the track on Saturday night.

  1. Professor to sample new album

kwaito hit maker Professor who last released an album in 2014, earlier this year announced that he will release a new album. Hopefully Bulawayo will get the first feel of the album this Saturday.

  1. Kalawa home coming party line up hint

As we drew nearer to the end of the year it’s a norm the traditional Kalawa home coming party preparations are in course. With Kalawa Jazmee Records being represented on Saturday the organisers might let the cat out of the bag on who will grace this year’s edition of the annual party held on December 27 at Queens sports club.

  1. Skyz Metro to unveil Babongile Sikhonjwa’s Vuka Vuka breakfast show co-host

After the exit of Kya Drastiq who co-hosted the Vuka Vuka breakfast show with Babongile Sikhonjwa, Skyz Metro FM went on a talent search for a new voice that will fit Kya’s gap. Babongile Sikonjwa who will be one of the hosts might take the opportunity to introduce his new co-host to the crowd.

  1. Will Ammara Brown give us something new and different?

Her looks, poise, and the way she tears up the stage with her erotic dances made her the latest poster girl. After featuring on Mukoko and Bhachura songs which belongs to Tytan and ExQ respectively the legendary Andy Brown’s daughter’s bookings continued to raise no wonder she is the only Harare artist invited for the Skyz Metro FM gig.

However Ammara doesn’t have at least five well known songs to her name and critiques have labeled her a buccaneer, who rode on the wave of Bhachura and Mukoko.

Will Ammara silence her critics on the night by releasing new tracks and a new set different from the one we have known her for all these months.

  1. Lots and Lots of Ingwebu #ShakeShakes

Main supporting corporate brand Ingwebu breweries will be I the house, meaning it can’t be Umcimbi wabantu (the people’s party) without the local’s favorite opaque beer. We foresee White City Stadium being turned into a pool of the red and white shake shake ampules.

If ever there is going to be any attacks let it be musical attacks, the above seven and more are the only ‘missiles’ we want to see on the night #NoToViolence
