What to expect from the 11:11 albums launch night

On Saturday, 11th of November, the 11th month of the year- 11 artists from Bulawayo will launch 11 albums, 11 new music videos in one night at an event dubbed “Live in Bulawayo”.

The Sabela Music projects steered event will see all these projects being handled by one band is slated for the Rainbow hotel.

Hwabaraty, Sandra Ndebele (pictured), ASAPH, Msiz Kay, Kontrol Tribe, Umdumo Wesizwe, Mzoe 7, T1nda, Ashleigh, Love, DeLukes, and Khuliyo, who will all be launching new albums that night in one of the biggest combined album launches to date.

What to expect

Glitz and glamour

The all-inclusive tickets are going for $20 per head for VVIP and $10 VIP with tables available as well. The advance tickets on sale are for VIP and VVIP, there is no general entry ticket, orgaisers have set black tie as the dress code.

Talking to the organizer Simon Mambazo Phiri, he said they want to host a classy and clean event that will bring together artists, fans and the corporate world.

The show hosted by comedian Nceku and Miss T will come to life at 6:30pm with a red carpet reception where all the artists, celebrities, socialites and corporate bosses will show off their style, so one should dress like they are going to meet their next boss or their ex.

New surprise music

Obviously the show is all about new music but amongst the new projects we are bound to be surprised by rare collaborations- a source close to Sandra Ndebele’s camp revealed to us that Sandy will debut her new track with Tocky Vibes and she is most likely to debut her music video with Mzansi kwaito star Professor.

After all the work it will be nice to see all the 11 artists on stage for an historic allstar track, it’s something to look forward to.

The Corporate muscle in the arts

After the heavily sponsored Bulawayo arts awards we thought this was the beginning of the end of our problems in arts as finances and corporate support is concerned, alas things still looked the same for many of our artists.

This Saturday the big companies are set to converse again with the artists on a different but calm set up and we hope this time fortunes will change for every artist who will participate on the night and we hope the product they will serve will be of value to corporates.

A star will be born

The list is no doubt the cream dela’ cream of Bulawayo urban music, amongst the 11 to rumble on one stage one will entice the crowd more, that one artist that will have everyone talking about on their way home.
