Robert Mugabe’s son arrested on the eve of Mugabe youth day celebrations

Former President, the late Robert Mugabe’s son- Robert Mugabe (Junior) has been arrested on allegations of destroying cars and property at a place where he was attending a party over the weekend.

Mugabe is currently detained at Avondale Police Station.

The police have confirmed his arrest and mentioned that he will appear in court soon.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that Robert Tinotenda Mugabe (Junior) (31) has been arrested on malicious damage to property allegations after a complaint by his friend Nkatazo Sindiso (31) that he destroyed property worth USD 12 000 at house number 3A Verdi Lane, Strathaven, Harare.

He will appear in court in due course.,” read a statement by the police.

Mugabe once hogged the limelight after his brawl with a woman identified as Bertha went viral.

In the video Bertha declares that she will not be leaving an apartment or getting dressed until she gets the US$50 she had negotiated for her services.

Mugabe is seen trying to negotiate with Bertha that she should get dressed and leave the apartment.

Meanwhile, Zimbabweans will on Tuesday commemorate the Robert Mugabe National Youth Day.

The holiday which comes every February 21 honours the late Robert Mugabe, the country’s first Prime Minister and to recognize youth’s contribution to the country’s development, and encourage young people to adopt good leadership values.
