On Saturday, fun and cultural fanatics will leave Bulawayo and surrounding areas for a day getaway at Amagugu International heritage centre in Matobo, 60km along Bulawayo-Kezi/Maphisa Road.
AIHC was established in 2010 out of the vision of Pathisa Nyathi, the founding director, and owner. AIHC’s developmental thrust and resourcing ideology is informed by self-help and self-sufficiency which engenders a spirit of independence and pride.
The last event of this magnitude was the annual food and beverage expo which was last held in 2019, the Expo is a space to raise awareness and promote various traditional foods and beverages for their inherent nutritional value. In light of climate change, the Expo promotes drought-resistant indigenous seed varieties.
The event is part of embracing domestic tourism and celebrating Pathisa Nyathi’s recent NAMA Legends award.
There will be a guided tour by Pathisa Nyathi, a traditional food and crafts exhibition then the day will be capped with braai on the rocks.
A $5 fee covers the tour and braai on the rocks. Payments can be made at the Art Gallery.
Participants will depart at 10:30 am from the Art Gallery koBulawayo.
